If you cannot appear for your court date, you need to contact the officer.
If you were involved in the collision, but you did not receive a ticket, you have certain responsibilities:

You need to appear on the court date and time that is on your subpoena.

The officer is not a witness. [S]he cannot testify for any party of the collision. [S]he can only testify to what [s]he saw upon arrival and what was said to him/her at the scene..

Failure to appear in court could result in the ticket being dismissed and the insurance companies having to settle liability through civil means (which can take years).

Failing to appear for court as a defendant, victim, or witness can result in a bench warrant for your arrest.

Failing to appear or pay the fine for your ticket will result in suspension of your driver's license.

The green forms need to be turned into your insurance company within 15 days of the collision.
Failure to do so will result in your driver's license being suspended.
