WHEN: Approximately three meetings are held per year at City Hall in March and April. Meetings usually last one to four hours. Mid-year disbursements from time to time may require additional meetings.

PURPOSE: Develops and periodically revises a master plan for the identification of strategic sites for the placement of objects of art in public places throughout the City. Objects of art shall include sculpture, murals, historic markers and plaques, fountains, monuments, and other two and three dimensional objects which a reasonable person would perceive to be decorative in character, whether by design or the creator or by impact on the public. Recommends policies which enhance and expand the use of art as integral parts of public space. Reviews concept proposals for specific art objects. Reviews design or concept renderings.

commission on fire and police practices
PURPOSE: The Commission on Fire and Police Practices addresses grievances of uniformed employees in the fire and police departments and hears concerns of members of the public about the conduct of fire fighters and/or police officers, and makes recommendations to the City Council and to the City Manager about practices and procedures in effect at the respective departments.
WHO: Five members serve five-year terms.
