bulk waste collection
Bulk waste will be handled at the curb on your regularly scheduled day of pick-up. Bulk waste includes items such as furniture, carpeting, small appliances, boxes or bags of clothing, large toys, mattresses, box springs or other large items that do not fit into your garbage cart.
utility trailers
The City of Greenville provides a 4 cubic yard utility trailer for home clean-up projects at no charge. Use of the trailer must be scheduled by calling 467-4345.
Trailers can be delivered to commercial establishments at a charge/fee per unit. Only City of Greenville solid waste customers will be eligible to use the utility trailers. The charge is set at $25 per trailer.
The following instructions should be followed for the use of the utility trailer that has been delivered to your residence or place of business:
- Trailer must not be moved from delivery location by customer. If the trailer is moved, the City of Greenville will not be responsible for any damages that occur.
- Do not load beyond capacity. Items should not protrude from top of sides or trailer.
- There is a 24-hour usage limit from the time of delivery Monday through Thursday. Friday deliveries must be kept until Monday.
- Residents are allowed only one trailer per cleanup.
- Do not block access to trailer at any time.
- The combined weight limit for the trailer and load is 4000 pounds.

The following items are not allowed in the utility trailers:
- Hazardous materials including pesticides; herbicides; needles; insecticides; automotive fuel/filters; paint; varnish; paint/varnish removers, etc.
- Tires of any kind. Tires must be taken to the County landfill for disposal. Please contact Greenville County 297-8558 for specific disposal instructions.
- Lead-acid batteries such as marine, auto, ATV, etc. are not allowed, but may be returned to the retailer for recycling.
- Large appliances such as washers, dryers, etc.
- Large furniture
- Building materials such as bricks, blocks, concrete, drywall, shingles, lumber, etc.
- Yard waste such as leaves, twigs, stones, logs, brush, dirt, etc.
If any unacceptable items are found in the trailer, the customer will be required to remove and dispose of them properly. Failure to comply with utility trailer procedures can forfeit future use of this service.

white goods (appliances)
The City will collect white goods at the curb. Schedule the pick-up by calling 467-4345. For the safety of children, please remove all doors before placing items at curb.White goods are defined as large metal appliances such as washers, dryers, stoves, refrigerators and hot water heater. We cannot accept compressed gas containers such as propane tanks or bottles. We will not accept any fluid liquid container such as gas or oil cans/drums.
dead animal removal
The Solid Waste Division will pick up dead animals on City streets and by the curb. We cannot pick up animals on private property.
