Falls Park on the Reedy

Construction of the bridge has begun and is scheduled for completion in May.

Renovation Update
With a May opening quickly approaching, the renovation of Falls Park is progressing at a quick pace. Hardscape construction of Falls Parkway, the Old Mill Garden, Pond Garden and Bowater Amphitheater are essentially complete. At Falls Cottage, new walls and walkways are also nearly complete. Irrigation of these areas is underway, and landscaping will soon follow.

The most obvious signs of progress are next to the Falls Place building on the corner of South Main Street and Camperdown Way — where the new Falls Park Center is springing up. The main structure here is complete and intricate stone and brick work have begun.

Tate Plaza (on Main Street) and the East Plaza (across the river) are being graded — and temporary supports and support anchors for the Liberty Bridge are in progress.

Visit Falls Park Online
You can go back in time — or get a glimpse of the future — on the new Falls Park website: www.fallspark.com. There you’ll find bits of park history with archival photos, construction updates including views from a live web cam, and even the opportunity to make a tax-deductible donation to the endowment, using your credit card.

The Endowment
Through the generosity of area businesses and individuals more than $2.2 million has been raised toward the $3 million endowment goal.

Opportunities to support the endowment are still available. Gift options range from $150,000 for naming rights at the new Falls Park Center terrace to $25 to be a park partner. Your gift to the Falls Park Endowment Fund will provide an ongoing revenue stream to support park enhancements and programs for many generations to come.

You can keep up with what's happening with the Falls Park Endowment Campaign by subscribing to the contributor newsletter. Published quarterly, the newsletter contains updates on park construction and programs as well as donor information. To receive a newsletter, you can call the endowment office at 467-5791 or email wymand@greatergreenville.com
