Getting Started
The City of Greenville collects recyclables from the curb once a week on your scheduled collection day. Please place your bin at the curb by 7 a.m. each day and remove after service. In case of rain, please hold your paper-based recyclables until the next week, is possible. We do not accept plastic bags. Please rinse all containers before placing them in the bin.
Items collected curbside include:

Glass jars and bottles |
(clear, brown, blue and green). No ceramic items, no window glass, no drinking glasses or mirrors .
Including these items can ruin an entire load of glass.

Plastic Bottles and Jugs |
We do not accept plastic bags or wide-mouth containers such as yogurt cups, butter tubs or take-out boxes.

Garbage carts, recycling bins and bulk waste should be out at the curb no earlier than 12 hours before collection day and all City containers must be returned to the rear of the structure within 24 hours of collection.
Trash and Recycling Service
Contact the Public Works office at 864-467-4345 to request a bin. Bins will be delivered to your home or business.
City customers may receive more than one bin upon request. The City is unable to provide recycling bins to property owners who do not receive City services.

What We Recycle
Items Accepted:
- Vehicle tires (limit 4 per person), no rims or debris, no heavy equipment tires
- VHS and Beta tapes
- CDs and CD cases
- Used books
- Cellular phones (please do not drop-off standard phones)
- Ink cartridges
- Crayons
- Eyeglasses
- Greeting cards
- Floppy disks
- Batteries (all types)
